How to spot Fake News™

Fake News has become a hot topic, with lots of people following Clickbait to totally bogus stories and then taking them seriously. While the Onion has been around as a fake newspaper since 1988, and is very well known, I'm sure there are people who are still taken in by them. Snopes has a good article on spotting fake news, with lots of examples.

Sadly, some of the fake news sites are setting up their websites to mimic sites like The Washington Post, The New York Times, and others. So you have to be on your guard to make sure that what you're reading isn't fake. The main tell on these sites is the domain name. Look at the URL in the browser's address bar. If it ends in .com.co then it's a fake site.
